Working in Cyprus

One benefit of combining work with studies is that students can earn money while
gaining valuable work experience. The hotel and tourism industry is in high demand for
a workforce, which makes it easier for EU and international students to find
employment. American College has established connections with hotels and
restaurants in Cyprus, providing assistance to students in finding a job.
The College hosts an annual job forum, inviting managers and human resource
personnel from the industry to the campus to interview students and offer them
employment opportunities.
Summer jobs in hotels provide shared accommodation, three meals per day, and a net
minimum wage of 800 euros per month.
Non-EU international students at American College are permitted to work for 20 hours
per week during the teaching period, as long as these hours do not overlap with their
study hours. During holiday periods (Christmas, Easter, or summer), students are
allowed to work up to 38 hours per week.
International students are eligible for employment in specific fields and occupations,
including hotels and restaurants, as well as occupations relevant to their area of study.

Furthermore, students studying Hotel Management or Culinary Arts programs have the
opportunity to undertake paid internships in the hotel and tourism industry in Cyprus
during the summer period (from June 1 to October 15), gaining valuable hands-on
experience.
Upon completing the Master of Business Administration program, international
students are permitted to stay in Cyprus for up to 12 months in order to search for
employment.
