How to get Citizenship in Cyprus by Marriage

Third-country nationals (non-European Union citizens) who marry to Cypriot residents are eligible to apply for a residence permit in Cyprus. The process is known as Cypriot Citizenship by Marriage.  This also applies to the spouse’s family members, like their children under the age of 18 from a previous marriage, as well as the parent of the spouse.

An advantage of a residence permit via marriage is the unlimited right to stay in Cyprus. However the Residence permit will eventually lead to obtaining the Cypriot Citizenship.

If the spouse of a Cypriot citizen is residing outside of Cyprus, they must obtain an entry permit from the Cyprus Migration Department to enter the Republic of Cyprus.
